This credential helps organizations identify and develop critical knowledge related to implementing cloud initiatives. Earning AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner showcases cloud fluency and foundational AWS knowledge and it is intended for anyone who has basic knowledge of the AWS platform. 

Before taking the exam you should have six months of exposure to the AWS Cloud, basic understanding of IT services and their uses in the AWS Cloud platform, knowledge of core AWS services and use cases, billing and pricing models, security concepts, and how cloud impacts your business. 

Associate  

Price: 220 EUR (VAT 0) 

Associate level certificates are intended for anyone with at least one year of experience solving problems and implementing solutions using the AWS Cloud. There are three different associate level certifications: Architects, Operations and Developer. 

Architects: Getting AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate proves your ability to design and implement distributed systems on AWS. 

Before taking this exam, you should have one year of hands-on experience with AWS technology, including using compute, networking, storage, and database AWS services as well as AWS deployment and management services. Also it is important to have experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements. You have to be familiar with using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and understand the AWS Well-Architected Framework, AWS networking, security services, and the AWS global infrastructure.  

Operations:  Getting AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Associate demonstrates experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS. 

Before taking this exam, you should have a minimum of one year of hands-on experience with AWS technology, experience deploying, managing, and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements. It is also required to have familiarity with using AWS Management Console and AWS CLI. And last but not least, it demands understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework as well as AWS networking and security services 

Developer: Obtaining AWS Certified Developer-Associate validates the ability to write and deploy cloud-based applications.  

Before taking the exam, you should have in-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language and understanding of core AWS services, basic AWS architecture best practices (including the AWS Shared Responsibility Model), application lifecycle management, and the use of containers in the development process. You will also need to have proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS and writing code for serverless applications. On top of that it is recommended to have the abilities to identify key features of AWS services, use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to write applications, apply a basic understanding of cloud-native applications to write code and the ability to author, maintain, and debug code modules on AWS. 

Professional

This credential help organizations identify and develop talent with critical skills for implementing cloud initiatives.  They require at least two years of comprehensive experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting solutions using the AWS Cloud. There are two different professional level certifications: Solutions Architect-Professional and DevOps Engineer-Professional. 

Earning AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional showcases the ability to design, deploy, and evaluate applications on AWS within diverse, complex requirements. It is intended for individuals with two or more years of hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud architecture on AWS.  

Getting AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional proofs the ability to automate the testing and deployment of AWS infrastructure and applications. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional is intended for individuals with two or more years of experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environments.
